How Pregnancy Yoga Teacher Training will enhance your offering as a Yoga Teacher

You might be asking yourself ‘why choose pregnancy yoga teacher training?’ Particularly when as a yoga teacher, the world appears to be your oyster when it comes to advancing your yoga teaching through training. As an experienced yoga training centre, with an experienced Teacher Training Faculty – outside of London – we’ve compiled the top three reasons why you should embark on pregnancy yoga teacher training…

Teaching pregnancy yoga makes you more appealing as a Yoga Teacher

The yoga market is becoming increasingly competitive. With many more wonderful yogis beginning their fantastic journey to become a yoga teacher, it means that there are more teachers for studios to add to their weekly schedule. Completing a short 4-day immersion for pregnancy yoga will equip you to expand your class style options – enhancing your offering as a yoga teacher – and making you a desirable teacher choice for studios.

Pregnancy Yoga helps to attract a new audience

Adding pregnancy yoga to your teaching portfolio allows you to put on dedicated pregnancy classes which will help to attract a new audience. While your 200-hour teaching training will have included a module on adapting yoga classes for the odd one or two pregnant ladies in your classes, these practitioners are likely to be regular to your classes so have an existing practice. A dedicated yoga class will attract mums-to-be who are likely to be new to yoga and are looking for a practice to support their pregnancy.

Having a dedicated pregnancy yoga class enables you to gain a new practitioner who you can have longevity with by building a relationship with them. These ladies are trusting you with their growing baby after all so are likely to continue a regular general yoga practice, making for a longer-term practitioner.

Training in Pregnancy Yoga for your own personal development

Often yoga teachers train in pregnancy yoga after having a baby themselves, or if they are considering starting a family. Not only does the pregnancy yoga teacher training immersion course teach you how to safely guide pregnant students through a class, but it can also be of great benefit for yoga teachers who are having a baby – or planning to as you’ll learn how to adapt your own practice.

The Pregnancy Yoga Training Teacher

The entire pregnancy yoga teacher training course is led by Yoga Alliance Professionals Senior Yoga Teacher (SYT) Dawn Wright who is also one of our principle teachers for the Advanced Yoga & Teacher Training Programme. Her approach is nurturing and supportive, giving students the space to explore their own yoga practice and to safely, informatively and creatively expand their teaching. Dawn is a mother of 3 children and found yoga to be a powerful tool to her physical and mental well-being both pre and post-natally. She is passionate about sharing practices which support women during this special time, teaches weekly pre-natal classes and runs Birthing Preparation workshops. She has been teaching pregnancy yoga for many years and trained with Uma Dinsmore-Tuli.
