Thai massage is an ancient healing practice with Indian and Buddhist origins. It combines assisted stretching, acupressure and dynamic movement to free the flow of energy in the body. It dates back to around 2,500–7,000 years ago.

Sessions are carried out on a super comfy Thai mattress on the floor, supported with blankets, bolsters and cushions as necessary.  The recipient wears loose, comfortable clothing.

During a session the practitioner guides the recipient through a series of yoga-like stretches, applying rhythmic pressure to various points along the body’s energy lines. This holistic approach promotes relaxation, relieves muscle tension, stimulates circulation, improves flexibility, and brings a sense of balance, making it a rejuvenating experience for both the body and mind.

Alberto de Fortuna

Alberto de FortunaMy yoga journey properly started about 10 years ago (after one too many sporting injuries!). I attended a local class in a Church hall one evening and left feeling amazing, almost instantly realising that yoga was a practice that i wanted\needed in my life. I think I have done some yoga, either in a class or at home, nearly every single day since then!

I did my Yoga Teacher Training in 2018 and have been teaching ever since. I have since trained in Yin yoga and I am also a Traditional Thai Massage therapist.

My yoga style is rooted in traditional Hatha yoga, my classes move between a stronger, flowing type of class to a softer, slower and more calming type of class – sometimes they are a mix of both. I try to encourage everyone in the room, that although it is a shared experience, it should still remain their own personal practice, allowing ourselves to accept how we feeling in this moment and to practice accordingly.
