Yesterday I Zip-Wired down the side of a mountain at over 100mph. It was amazing – thrilling, terrifying and exhilarating all at the same time. I love this kind of stuff because it reminds me to let go of the illusion that I’m in control – of anything really. Because truth is, we’re in control of very, very little in our lives.
We can’t control circumstances, or what other people are going to do, or say. In many ways, it’s a tough gig, but there it is. And so more and more, the best we can do is let life unfold as it does and go with it. Sometimes it’s easier said than done – please don’t think for a moment that I breeze through this stuff, as I don’t. I need constant reminders that life isn’t a race, or a great big to-do list (as everything around me would suggest!), or a chase for what’s outside of us, to cure the hole that’s inside of us. It’s a story that’s co-written by the things that happen and the way I respond.
So when fear comes up (which it often does), let’s grab that opportunity to dig deeper, find courage and fly. Join me this week for a practice that steps into the unknown and let’s us find our wings!!! Love Deborah x
