Today I bring news! As most of you know, Whitespace has been my singular passion for a decade now, and it is time for me to step back from studio management to focus on my most heartfelt passion: teaching.
I’ve been lucky enough to have served our team and community for the past 10 years and it has given me great joy to see it grow into a wonderful and thriving community. It has been the team, the teachers and customers that have made every day a soulful adventure. I’m deeply proud of this small business and community we’ve all co-created and feel excited about this new chapter.
Pam Connolly will be taking over as the new owner of Whitespace and will be responsible for day-to-day leadership and running of the studio. Pam is based in Stony Stratford and started her yoga journey with us here at Whitespace over 6 years ago. Her 20 years of business management experience, along with her passion for yoga, is the perfect recipe for a bright future. I can’t tell you how delighted I am to have found a new owner who really understands and values the importance of the community of students, teachers and team that makes Whitespace so special.
“Deborah has built a very special studio through her dedication, vision and excellent leadership. She will be sorely missed as a leader, but the Whitespace community will continue to benefit enormously from her dedication to teaching. The team of staff and teachers Deborah assembled is at the heart of Whitespace and will be key to our success as we continue together as a community. I’m excited to preserve and build on all of this, while bringing a fresh energy and openness on how Whitespace can continue to thrive in the future.” – Pam Connolly
I feel very grateful to hand the reins over to someone who brings a wealth of business experience and resources, and for the opportunity for me to focus on teaching Classes, Retreats and Teacher Trainings here Whitespace. I’m still very much a part of the Whitespace team – simply in a new capacity.
And from your perspective, things will feel pretty much the same. The team are still doing a fantastic job in supporting our customers and teachers, and our brilliant teachers will continue to teach classes that are both skilful and inspiring.
Pam will be introducing herself in the coming weeks. I’ll be spending a lot of time with her over the coming weeks to ensure a smooth transition going forward, and will continue to offer my experience and insights on a consultancy basis. I know we’ll all be behind her to ensure this community continues to thrive, especially during these challenging times.
I have such deep gratitude and respect to all our teachers for their inspiration and partnership. Big love and extra heart to my staff for their dedication to our studio’s mission, and to all the students for their willingness to show up for themselves and each other. And a deep bow to the vast and large Milton Keynes yoga community for allowing me to be of service for all these years. I hand over the studio with great pride in knowing that this work has positively impacted thousands upon thousands of lives and that its positive effects will continue to serve and ripple out into the world.
With love and in service,
Deborah
