Pilates is a low-impact form of exercise that can benefit people of all ages and fitness levels. Whether you’re looking to improve your core strength, flexibility, and posture, or simply get in shape, our Pilates classes are designed to help you achieve your fitness goals.
Created in the 1920s by the physical trainer Joseph Pilates. Joseph believed physical fitness and positive mental attitude combined, created wellbeing. He was inspired by his own poor health to incorporate techniques from yoga, meditation and tai-chi into mental and physical conditioning methods that brought him better overall health and mental wellness.
Pilates is a great complement to yoga; by helping to strengthen the core it will create more excellent stability and better alignment. Pilates is also effective in reducing the risk of injury, strengthening muscles weakened by injury and preventing re-aggravation of previous injuries.
At our studio, we believe Pilates is more than just a workout – it’s a way to connect your mind and body and improve your overall well-being. Our experienced instructors guide you through each class, helping you focus on your breath, form, and movement so that you can get the most out of your practice.
Our classes are suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners alike. We offer courses for complete beginners too.
We believe everyone can benefit from Pilates, and we’re committed to helping you get the most out of every class.
There are various forms of Pilates, including reformer Pilates, classical Pilates, contemporary Pilates, clinical Pilates and mat Pilates. If you are not sure which type is right for you, please feel free to call us on 01908 566610 and speak to one of our experts.

I am passionate about Pilates which I have been practising almost daily for many years and teaching since I qualified as an instructor in 2015 when my hobby evolved into my craft.
I endeavour to make my classes fun and stimulating with clients feeling truly uplifted and looking forward to their next class when they leave!
My style of Pilates is based on the classical movements and principles of Joseph Pilates. Adapted & modified for all levels of ability and experience. I like to add variety by using different small pieces of Pilates equipment like soft balls or Pilates rings to add a challenge & to aid technique.
Pilates has made a positive impact on my life for over 20 years. First, practising and then becoming a Pilates instructor, I specialise in mat based Pilates, plus orthopaedic injuries and back rehabilitation Pilates.

Pilates emphasises the conscious and focused movement of the body. Each exercise requires mental awareness and concentration on the muscles involved.
Proper breathing in Pilates involves deep inhalation and exhalation, expanding the lungs fully in all directions. The breath guides and propels each movement throughout the practice.
A strong centre is vital for balance and control in the entire body. It provides support for the lower back and facilitates smooth and controlled movements.
Pilates emphasises the importance of slow, precise, and controlled movements. This develops both physical and mental control, allowing individuals to gain mastery over their bodies.
In Pilates, every movement and sequence is performed with precision. The goal is to make precise execution a natural part of daily life, ensuring safety and effectiveness.
Pilates promotes natural and fluid movements, maintaining stability and grace in all exercises. Each movement seamlessly transitions into the next, creating a harmonious flow.
Isolation involves the mental focus on engaging and feeling specific muscles. This technique helps improve flexibility, mobility, and strength while releasing tension in overworked muscles.
Regular practice of Pilates leads to physical and mental well-being. The more one engages in Pilates, the greater the improvements in movement quality and overall life quality.
Pilates can be a safe and effective form of exercise for people with injuries or health conditions, but it’s important to consult with a doctor or physical therapist before starting a Pilates program. Modified exercises can be used to accommodate injuries or conditions.
Ideally, Pilates should be practiced 2-3 times per week for optimal results. Consistency is key, so regular practice is important to see improvements in strength, flexibility, and posture.
Pilates can be an effective form of exercise for people with back pain. By strengthening the core muscles and improving posture, Pilates can help alleviate back pain and prevent future injuries.
While Pilates is not typically a weight-loss-focused exercise, it can be a great complement to a weight loss program. Pilates can help tone and strengthen the body, which can improve metabolism and help with weight loss.
Results from Pilates can vary depending on factors such as frequency of practice, fitness level, and diet. Some people may see improvements in strength, flexibility, and posture within a few weeks, while others may take longer to see results.
